Sound
is one of the bridges between physical and spiritual realities. Certain sounds can trigger deep-seated memories, and help us to travel to other dimensions. Thereby reminding us that we are much more than we appear to be. Magical sounds can fill us with joy and the remembrance of being a child. They can take our mind far from our everyday worries. So enabling us to reach a place of relaxation and rejuvenation.
Sounds of nature, birdsong, the sound of waves breaking on a beach, a gurgling stream, a simple song, a crystal bowl, windchimes, an acoustic instrument, to name just a few.
Colour and sound are vibrations and the nature of vibration is movement. Blocked energy, or energy that is not moving, will eventually lead to disease, as vital life-force will not be flowing in this area. Vibration can move and thereby free energetic blockages. When energy flows freely, natural healing can take place as the body realigns itself.
We each have a natural rhythm. Our breath, our heartbeat, in fact every part of our body has a natural rhythm, or vibration. When we lose this rhythm through stress, worry, and unnatural life-styles, our breathing and heartbeat and entire metabolism becomes faster, sluggish or irregular. Our whole body and mind pulses differently and we become out of rhythm with ourselves. This is when sickness can enter our system. Throush meditation, spending time in nature, eating and sleeping well, listening to relaxing music, taking exercize, being with those we love, laughing, singing, dancing, doing whatever makes us feel happy – we begin to move back into our natural rhythm, and health begins to blossom once more.
– are great ways of putting ourselves back in tune with ourselves and with others. An out of tune stringed instrument is not a pleasure to listen to – there is no vibrance. When it is tuned, the strings resonate together and there is life. It is the same with human beings. Singing has been used traditionally as a form of worship and a way of bringing community together. In ancient cultures, singing and sound were always a part of healing rituals. Sounding or toning is an ancient healing technique using vowel sounds and single tones, to alter and retune vibrations in the body and energy body.
What are magical sounds?
“The body is held together by sound – the presence of disease indicates that some sounds have gone out of tune.”

The Zulu Medicine man does not ask his patients when their symptoms began – he asks them “When did you stop singing?”
